Product Description
ARTILLERIREGEMENTET FORSOKSMODELL
The Swedish Artillery Protractor reproduces the Artilleriregementet Forsoksmodell — a unique reverse-reading military protractor used in Swedish artillery fire-direction work and preserved in museum and collector circles across Sweden, Finland and the Baltic. Unlike any other protractor in the MTT range, it graduates in both degrees and streck (mils), and carries the widest set of coordinate scales of any military protractor we produce: 1:20,000, 1:25,000, 1:50,000, 1:200,000 and 1:250,000 — in both metres and nautical miles. What it does: plots grid and magnetic azimuths in degrees or streck, reads distances across five standard military map scales, and supports fire-direction work in the reverse-reading convention unique to Försvarsmakten doctrine. The nautical mile scales make it directly useful for combined land-maritime planning — an unusual capability for a land nav protractor. Why the Forsoksmodell matters: the reverse-reading geometry lets an FDC read the bearing as the firing data is plotted, without the mental inversion that catches fatigued operators on standard protractors. Swedish artillery schools teach with this pattern for that reason. Printed on 1.5mm PETG: UV-cured graphics on the reverse for zero parallax error. Waterproof, UV stable, solvent-resistant, flexible. Flexes into a map case or fire-direction book without cracking. Ideal uses: Swedish and Finnish expat artillery trainers, military history collectors, Baltic joint-exercise planning, coastal land-maritime operations, and anyone who needs exceptional scale coverage on one protractor. shipped from Buderim QLD, made in Australia.
