About Us

Military Template Technology (MTT) designs and manufactures precision map marking templates, protractors, range planning tools and warfighting symbology stencils for military users. Every product is made in Australia at our workshop in Buderim, Queensland, and dispatched Australia-wide and to allied customers worldwide.

What we make

Our catalogue covers the full map table: navigation protractors built to service specifications (including the US Army GTA 05-02-012 and the Royal Australian Artillery service protractor), Australian Defence range danger area templates drawn to LP-G 7-3-0 and LWP-G 7-3-3 requirements, NZDF range danger area templates, warfighting symbology stencils, and genuine STAEDTLER Lumocolor map marking pens and talc.

How we make it

Our tools are digitally printed and laser cut to an accuracy of +/- 0.25 mm. Protractors are printed on the reverse of the material so the graduations sit flush with the map — eliminating the parallax error that affects thick stamped tools. Materials are chosen for the field: waterproof, UV-stable inks on PETG, with the RAA service protractor produced on 1.5 mm polycarbonate with bevelled edges and countersunk roamer holes to its service drawing.

Who we supply

MTT products are used by ADF and NZDF personnel, Australian Army Cadets, allied forces and civilian land navigation users. We are a preferred supplier to Australian Defence for NSN-catalogued service items, and we manufacture templates to current dated publications — when a publication is amended, we redraw to the new requirement.

Direct from the manufacturer

Buying from this store is buying direct from the people who draw and cut the tools. Custom templates, new natures and publication updates can be produced on request — if you need a template we haven't drawn yet, contact us.
