Product Description
6IN Rectangular Protractor
The RA Rectangular Protractor is built to Canadian Army service specification — a rectangular, dual-system map protractor graduated in both degrees and mils, with coordinate scale plotters in both metres and yards for 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 military topographic maps. Designed for Commonwealth forces, NATO joint-exercise personnel, cadets and orienteering clubs who work across imperial and metric systems. What it does: lets you plot grid azimuths in degrees or mils and measure distances on Canadian 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 National Topographic System maps, UK Ordnance Survey sheets, NATO military maps and civilian topo series. The dual-unit graduation means one tool covers joint-training, Five Eyes exercises and civilian use without conversions. Why the rectangular format: the straight edges act as a ruler and give a clean reference against grid lines — easier than semi-circular or round protractors when you need to transfer a bearing across a map or plot a long course. The Canadian Army has used this pattern for decades for this reason. Printed on 1.5mm PETG: UV-cured graphics on the reverse ensure zero parallax error during coordinate plotting. Waterproof, UV stable, solvent-resistant, flexible. Lives in a cargo pocket, map case or field pack lid without cracking. Ideal uses: British-Canadian joint exercises, Commonwealth forces training, RMC, ADFA and Australian Army Cadets land nav, orienteering, search and rescue, stalking, hunting and bushcraft. shipped from Buderim QLD, manufactured in Australia.
Features
- Canadian Army Service Design — Built to the Canadian Forces rectangular protractor specification. A trusted land navigation protractor used across Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Air Force, cadets and orienteering federations.
